Well here is the write up to make a center gauge pod like I did.

You first wanna take the OEM vent console thing out and trace the shape onto what ever material you plan on using. The center vents just pull out, on the back there is 3 plugs to undo.

Next, you want to trace out the placement of the buttons and switches that you will be using. I decided to not use the third dead switch and retain my rear wiper. Cut out the design of the center pod with a skill saw or other device depending on the material you are using. Drill pilot holes where the buttons/switched will be and then open them up with a dremel. You want to test and dremel as you work as to not make the openings too large.

A hole saw does perfect to make the holes for the gauges. Placement of the gauges depends on your preference and size of gauges you are using. Placing the gauge pod on a cardboard box works great because the hole saw will want to punch all the way through.

After the gauges sit as desired, you need to make mounts for the buttons/switches to sit on and screw into. Cut out 5 small squares and place them on in the proper locations. I used Gorilla Glue to secure the blocks. The blocks are small so a pilot hole is needed before the buttons/switches can be screwed in. After placing a small screw, I reinforced the unit with some more Gorilla Glue. Finally to mount the gauges, use some back strapping and bend two 90 degree angles to a depth depending on the depth of the gauges.

While the pod is still out of the car, you can polish it to get the smudges and dirt off the front.

Before you place the pod in the car, you have to remover the vents from the console and plug the air pipes. I just used an old t-shirt to divert the air to my two remaining vents. All that is left to do is wire up the gauges, plug the 3 harnesses back into the hazards, defogger, and wiper, and place the pod into place. My pod holds itself in place because i made the fitment exact. Other methods depend on the strength of the material you used.

Enjoy!
