    Which boost controller

I would really like to run the HKS EVC VI but it only controls up to like 36 psi. My other options are to get the aem solenoid for my ems but the main drawback to that is that it's not easily adjusted. Choice 2 the turbosmart E-Boost 2 and three the world motor sports PBC-1 here is a link to the PBC-1 WORLD electronics Pro Boost Control PBC-1 [WEPBC] - $377.00 : WORLD Motorsports Online Shop What one would you choose and why.

Your running an AEM ems. Use an ecu controlled solenoid. Why blow money on something that your ecu can already do it for a lot less?

    Straight off of AEM's website

Electronic Boost Control - You don't need to buy a piggyback boost controller ever again! The one that is included with the EMS at no cost is state of the art. It can drive the factory or aftermarket boost solenoids and can work with all boost levels. It can run in open loop (MBC mode) or full feedback with a 357 point boost target table. Not enough? how about a cockpit boost target override switch or having the boost target defined by vehicle speed? The EMS can do it all.

they may include it now but When I bought mine it was separate I was just thinking that if I wanted to adjust it it's a pain in the ass with ems.

the boost control in aem is pretty badass. not to mention the other stuff you can do like boost comp which is nice.

Anytime you adjust your boost level you should retune it. Even if your just decreasing the boost level. So technically anytime any of us change the boost level it is supposed to be a PITA. I wouldn't change the boost level on that massive 42r without retuning it, that's for sure. So really ya just need to set it, tune it and leave it until something changes.

Will it do things like the turbosmart etc to help the turbo spool up quicker etc?

Yeah, for your setup that sounds about what you'd want to do.

I wonder if the AEM tru boost is able to be controlled by ems... maybe somehow leaving it up to EMS to do the boost control, but still logging the boost pressure. I guess it would be a waste, and you could just get a regular boost gauge and use the GM solenoid. But that would be cool if somehow it could be integrated, and you could use the gauge to control it or load up EMS.

you really need to do research about what all aem can do before you go spending money on other things... With a properly set up airflow table and boost comp table you can just change boost and the car will reference the tables to adjust fuel based on boost and airflow. Thats the basic way of explaining it.

An electronic boost controller that can't be controlled by your ecu is pretty pointless IMO. At that point i would stick with a MBC. Since you already have EMS just learn how to tune the boost controller and im sure you'll be very happy.

I have both the AEM ECU and the AEM Tru-Boost installed inside my Eclipse. The Tru-Boost is controlled by the ECU...has 2 settings for 2 different boost levels. have mine set as (A) 8 PSI (B) 15 PSI. switches over with just a click of a button for easy gains. Currently running 8 psi for daily driving.
