Do you think it could be the ignition coil too? I don't think it's the ecu because the guy we bought it off of said he put a Dsmlink in it, but i'll be pulling the panel off tomorrow just to make sure.
You said you ran the oil out of the engine, that there my friend tells us you most likely caused damage to the engine. These cars shouldn't be run at 70 mph in low oil pressure. Hopefully you haven't ruined it.

DSM_FTW if your looking for local dsmer's checkout wvmotorsports.com. There's a good amount of dsmer's on that site along with about every other kind of car. It's not too bad of a site either

If you have low oil pressure at 70 MPH, which is around 3k rpms, you're low on oil. I can reassure you that its not the lifters like 7" said. Align your crankshaft with its timing mark and verify that the motor is in time. If not, enjoy your engine rebuilt.
    Time for another project....

    Highly unlikely.
Okay so we found out it jumped 360 out of time, got it all timed, and NOTHING. Cranks fine, no clanging while cranking. But we aren't getting any compression on any valves?

Please tell me whats wrong with it if you can, i'm tired of working on it, i've worked on it 8 days straight and still can't get it running.

We didn't RUN IT OUT OF OIL AT 70 MPH. It didn't run it out until we had pulled over and shut off the car  then we callled a rollback to come and get it, and it hasn't been ran since then.

The lack of compression and the clank clank clank sound usually means that valves said hello to the pistons and are bent/ broken.

to further diagnose the problem do a leak down test and a compression test. If those show as bad as i suspect they will the head will have to come off and go to a machine shop to be repaired. Hopefully the pistons are not to damaged and can be repaired otherwise they will have to be replaced. Good luck and have fun.

Do you think maybe we could still have it out of time or think somehow the exhaust valves are opening before the intake valves?

Possibly and no. Check the timing marks to be sure. If they're all in time, then it's time for a tear down.

Been a while since I've been on, but i've been busy putting a head on it! :woot:

Now heres whats wrong with it..again, something else is wrong with it now.

Anyways, we just got the head on 3 days ago and had a professional come and time it, but now its missing real bad and won't hardly run unless you leave your foot on the gas (this is at idle, we didn't want to drive it like this) and it makes a real loud sound for about i'd say between 3-7 seconds whenever you shut off the engine that sounds like the turbo spooling down..but extremely loud..like a jet plane kind of loud.

    wat do?
